Specifying a pneumatic ball valve
A pneumatic actuated ball valve is the fastest and most economical way to automate a quarter-turn valve where compressed air is available. Decide on three things: double acting (holds position on air failure) or spring return (moves to a fail-safe position, normally closed); the solenoid valve voltage (24V DC, 110V AC or 230V AC); and whether you need a switchbox for open/closed position feedback.
Packages are built on Air Torque, Actreg, Elomatic, Hytork, Festo, V-Tork and AV Ventus actuators, mounted on WRAS approved brass, stainless steel, carbon steel, flanged, hygienic and 3-way valve bodies. Our guide to pneumatic vs electric actuated ball valves compares the two options, and bare pneumatic actuators are available if you already have the valve.
